Streets of London

I want you to complete this song after you have listened to it. I know it's a bit sad but you'll find it easy to complete and to understand.
Good luck
Ralph McTell. Streets of London
Have you seen the old *****
In the closed-down market
Kicking up the *****,
with his worn out shoes?
In his ***** you see no pride
Hand held loosely at his *****
Yesterday's paper telling yesterday's *****

Chorus: So how can you tell me you're lonely,
And say for you that the ***** don't shine?
Let me take you by the hand and ***** you through the streets of London
I'll show you something to make you change your *****

Have you seen the old *****
who walks the streets of London
Dirt in her hair and her clothes in *****?
She's no time for talking,
She just keeps right on *****
Carrying her ***** in two carrier *****.

Chorus

In the all night cafe
At a quarter past eleven,

Francisco de Goya was a painter, he was born in Zaragoza the 30 of March of 1746. When he was born all the family went to a very little town, it´s name is Fuendetodos. His father was a craftsman, the next year all the family returned to Zaragoza. Francisco´s brother, Tomas, continued the same way of his father, but Francisco, when he was ten years old, he began to learn in a school, the Escolapios, but the family had not enough money, so he could not study more. But when he was 13 years old he continued studying and he became a very, very important painter in Zaragoza and in Madrid. I like very much Francisco de Goya.

The Globe Theatre

The Students in 3rd ESO did an excellent job about Shakespeare's The Globe.

they answered to some questions in a power point presentation. Here are some of them:

•Where is the new Globe Theatre?
The new Globe Theatre sits in Bankside on south side of the Thames River, New Globe Walk.

•When was the original Globe built?

The Globe Theatre in London was where most of William Shakespeare's plays were first presented. It was built in 1599 by two brothers, Richard and Cuthbert Burbage, who owned its predecessor 'The Theatre' at Shoreditch in north London. Before 1599 the Lord Chamberlain's Men performed in public primarily at The Theatre, which had been leased by James Burbage, father of Richard.
•What shape were Elizabethan theatres?
Open arena in the style of an amphitheatre.
•When did the theatre burn to the ground?
On 29 June 1613 the Globe Theatre went up in flames during a performance of Henry the VIII. A theatrical cannon, set off during the performance, misfired, igniting the wooden beams and thatching. According to one of the few surviving documents of the event, no one was hurt except a man whose burning breeches were put out with a bottle of ale. It was rebuilt in the following year.
•When did all the theatres close?
In 1644 the Globe Theatre was demolished by the Puritans. In 1647 Even stricter rules were passed regarding stage plays and theatres. This culminated in 1648 when all playhouses were ordered to be pulled down.
The plague which was caused by the rats from the sewers.
Also the theatres were in bad conditions.
•Who decided to make a new Globe Theatre?
•In 1949 Sam Wanamaker visited the site of the old Globe Theatre, and was disillusioned to find that the only tribute to Shakespeare was a plaque on the wall.
•In 1970 a Trust was founded to reconstruct the theatre, and he started 23 years of fundraising.
•When was the new theatre finished?
•They started in 1597 and it was finished in 1598.
•Where do the groundlings stand?
•The 'groundlings' would pay 1 penny to stand in the 'Yard' of the Globe Theatre.
•What is the atmosphere like among the groundlings?
•The atmosphere down on the floor is casual and fun.
•What can you see from the restaurant?
•You can see the Thames river through the windows
